Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
We are enthusiastically preparing for the 8th South Carolina Regional Conference of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) which will be a significant event marking the unity of the 133rd Annual Regional Assembly and the 141st South Carolina State Convention of the Christian Church! It will begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 29, 2011, and conclude Sunday, October 2nd. The Conference will be held at New Hope Christian Church, 67 Parris Island Gateway Burton SC 29906 Ph (843) 524-6512.
The Conference theme is "God's Grace Is Amazingly All Sufficient!"! The Scriptural Theme Text is: "2 Corinthians 12:1-10 especially vs 9"

1. We request that each church submit the name of a person from your congregation as Disciple of the Year. The guidelines for choosing a Disciple of the Year are attached. The Disciple of the Year for the South Carolina Regional Conference will be recognized on Saturday of the Conference.
2. Also, we ask that you submit the name(s) of deceased member(s) from your congregation since the last Regional Conference was held. A memorial will be done in their memory. These names should be listed on the Memorial Form.
3. On Sunday, October 2, 2011 worship services will be held at all churches. We expect a number of guest ministers in attendance throughout the Conference. Some will be invited to preach. We will communicate who they are and where they will be preaching. We invite all churches to be in solidarity with the Conference and emphasize the theme and text, "God's Grace Is Amazingly All Sufficient!"! based on "2 Corinthians 12:1-10 especially vs 9"
4. The financial support from each congregation for the Conference is appreciated. Each congregation is asked to contribute a gift of at least $100 or more as the Lord leads you to support this awesome move of God! Each pastor is invited to show his/her support with a commitment of $100 See the Registration Form for the complete registration information.
5 Please submit advanced registrations as indicated on the Registration form. The due date for advance registration is August 20, 2011. There will be on-site registration; however, we do request and encourage advanced registrations. Note the incentives for registering early as follows:
6. Friday Luncheon will be optional and the cost is on your own at Gilligan's Restaurant. The Saturday luncheon will be a cookout and is included in your registration.
7. Likewise, a commemorative program book will be printed to for the 8th South Carolina Regional Conference. Each church is asked to purchase an ad for the program book. The ads are priced accordingly:Your assistance is also needed in helping to solicit ads, business and personal, from your community. For your convenience, a letter and an Ad Request Form are attached The due date for all ads is August 20, 2011
8. If you would like to support the ministry of the Regional Church with a contribution you may do so as follows. Your name will be listed on in the program book on our Patron's page.
9. We have attached copies of the Conference forms including the Voting Delegates Form, the Church Contact Information Form. Please respond accordingly.
10. If you are connected with a business that would like to contribute items for the registration packets to be given to attendees, please feel free to do so by following the guidelines on the attached Registration Packet Request Letter.
